Swedish Massage
Best known and most widely practiced approach to massage. It focuses on improving blood flow to the skin and muscle and removing muscle tension. Swedish provides generalized relaxation, improves circulation, lowers blood pressure, reduces stress and enhances one’s overall state of health.
Deep Tissue Massage
Uses slow friction and deep finger pressure on body areas suffering from chronic muscle tension or areas that ache or feel contracted. This type of massage is useful for areas of hypertension, such as a stiff neck or sore shoulders. Deep tissue work works well in combination with traditional Swedish therapy.
Myofascial Release Massage
Myofascial release (MFR) is a therapeutic technique that involves applying pressure to the fascia, a connective tissue that surrounds muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and bones. Fascia helps maintain body posture and provides support and strength for the muscles. Fascia can tighten or become stuck in places, constricting the muscles and not allowing them to fully relax. The goal is to release restrictions in the fascia, such as trigger points, muscle tightness, and soft tissue dysfunction. A therapist will locate trigger points, or knots, in the fascia and apply gentle pressure along the direction of the muscle until the tissue releases and is fully elongated. The result of myofascial work is postural improvements and noticeable relaxation of cramped muscle groups.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
MLD is a form of light touch therapy that helps move stagnant fluid away from areas where it may be causing discomfort or pain in order to promote healing and reduce inflammation. This technique uses specific hand movements such as circular strokes along with very gentle pressure (1mm in depth) to stimulate the lymph vessels throughout your body so that fluids can more easily flow out into other parts of your circulatory system for elimination from your body’s tissues. MLD doesn’t involve usage of any lubricants like gel, creams or oil for better effect on lymphatic vessels and nodes. MLD is typically recommended by medical professionals after injury in order to help speed up recovery time surgery or by reducing swelling around affected areas quickly and efficiently without any need for drugs or medications on part of patient.
Recommended for Allergies, Eczema, Lyme disease, Long - or post COVID, Neuropathy, Pre - & Post Surgery/Operation
*For best results, it’s recommended to get 3-4 treatments in one week. For maintenance
1 treatment every 3/4 months.
Hot Stone Massage
A hot stone massage is a massage therapy that uses heated basalt stones (volcanic rocks that retains heat well) to relax muscles and relieve tension. The therapist places the stones on specific points of the body, such as the back, palms, stomach, feet, and toes. The therapist may also hold the stones while massaging. The therapist may use the stones to apply gentle pressure and glide them along the muscles. They may also use traditional massage techniques like long strokes, circular movements, and kneading. The heat from the stones can help relax muscles, improve circulation, and calm the mind. It can also help with muscle soreness, pain in the ligaments, tendons, and joints, and increasing flexibility.
Hot stone massage can be beneficial for people who feel chilly, have cold feet, or have muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage.
Hot Stone Massage Add On
Hot stones are one of the best ways to enhance relaxation and melt away tension during a massage. Can be applied to one part of your body - your neck, shoulders, upper back and lower legs.
Craniosacral Massage
Craniosacral therapy monitors the rhythm fluid that is continuously draining and refilling around our brain and spinal cord. By monitoring the craniosacral rhythm, the therapist discovers where healing is needed and corrects the sources of pain using extremely subtle manipulative techniques. CST is an extremely gentle hands-on technique that causes deep relaxation for the client.
Trigger Point Massage
Trigger Point Message is a targeted therapy that involves applying pressure to trigger points, or taut bands, in the body. Trigger points are small, tight areas in muscles that can restrict blood flow and cause pain. During a trigger point massage, a practitioner applies pressure to a trigger point for 30–90 seconds to help release tension. The therapist may ask the patient to take deep breaths while applying pressure. After releasing the pressure, the therapist massages the area with long, light strokes. Trigger point massage can help with back problems and postural issues. It can also increase temperature and blood flow through the muscles, which can promote relaxation and help restore movement.
Acupressure Massage
Acupressure is a type of massage that uses the fingers to apply pressure to acupoints, or specific points on the body, to help with pain and muscle relaxation. Acupressure is based on the traditional Chinese medicine practice of acupuncture, but uses fingers instead of needles. The goal is to encourage the flow of qi, or "life energy", through the body's energy channels, or meridians. Acupressure can help with a variety of conditions, including pain, headaches, nausea, and vomiting. It can also help with side effects of chemotherapy, such as pain and headaches.
Thai Massage
Thai massage, also known as Thai Yoga Massage, is a traditional Thai medicine technique that combines yoga-inspired stretching and acupressure to improve flexibility and relieve tension. The therapist uses their hands, feet, knees, and elbows to apply pressure and manipulate the client's body, which is usually done while the client is lying on the mat/ mattress on the floor, fully clothed. Loose-fitting clothes are preferred. The massage typically begins at the feet and moves up the body, with the client being guided through a series of “Yoga-like” stretches. Thai massage can help with pain relief, anxiety, and depression. It can also improve range of motion, which can be beneficial for athletes.
Pregnancy Massage
A pregnancy massage is a gentle, hands-on massage that's tailored to the needs of a pregnant woman. It can help relieve discomfort and pain, reduce swelling, improve mood, reduce nausea, improve cardiovascular health, and prepare the body for labor. Pregnancy massages are usually performed on a special table or with pillows to accommodate the pregnant woman's body. The woman is often positioned on her side, which can be the most comfortable position.
*NOTE* Pregnancy massage is not recommended during the 1st trimester. The reason is the potential for miscarriage.
Foot Massage
A foot massage is a massage that involves applying pressure to the muscles and soft tissues of the foot and surrounding area. The goal of a foot massage is to relieve pain, improve circulation, and promote relaxation.
